ODUNLADE, MR. REAL, OTHERS THRILL AT GLO 2018 MISS OJUDE OBA CONTEST
Inimitable Nollywood actor, Odunlade Adekola, DJ Top and the trio of Mr. Real, Idowest and Slim Case treated indigenes and guests at the 2018 Glo Miss Ojude Oba Beauty pageant held at Equity Hotel, Ijebu Ode to a memorable night of fun,drama and razmatazz at the show organised to round off activities for the 2018 Ojude Oba Festival sponsored by Globacom .
Gaily dressed youths, male and female, started arriving the venue from 7.00 pm for the high octane event and they were welcomed with trendy pulsating music oozing from the wheel of steel of Oluwatayo Oyedola, popularly called DJ Top.
Up-and-coming artistes from Ijebu Ode and environs thrilled with their eclectic performance spanning various genres of music namely hip-hop, rap, fuji, reggae and rock and blues enthusiastically relished by early arrivals.
The compere for the night, Odunlade Adekola spiced up the show by inviting attendees to partake in various competitions like dancing, blindfold and mime whilst giving winners cash and Globacom corporate gift items for their efforts before inviting the 13 contestants for the Miss Ojude Oba to appear in casual wears.
The Beauty queens also strutted their stuff in traditional Yoruba attires and were quite a spectacle in evening wears. These appearances were interspersed with questions and answers sessions when the intelligence, composure, poise and mental acuity of the ladies were tested in addition to their proficiency in speaking Ijebu dialect of Yoruba.
19 year old Ololade Aminat Adeiye, a 200 level Olabisi Onabanjo University student of Accounting defeated others to pick the crown, Kofoworola Osoteku, a graduate of Environmental Education from the University of Benin came second while Halimah Olorode of the Economics department, Olabisi Onabanjo University came third. Beautiful Miss Nigeria International 2017, Adesewa Adejoke Adenusi made a cameo appearance and helped to decorate the new beauty queen.
That done, the Shepeteri crooner, Idowest landed on the stage to increase the tempo of the show and held the audience spell bound for sometime before inviting the Otunba Lamba creator, Oluwafemi Oke-Eko popularly known as Slimcase to join him on the stage. Slimcase revved the show further and invited the Legbe-legbe crooner, Mr. Real to join and closed the party. Thereafter, DJ Top dished out melodious tunes till dawn when the event ended.
